Veterans of the Garden

"There was a war with the mockingbirds, my son. It was a long time ago, when we didn't knew the elixir of life, sugar. Humans have hidden it from us for so many ages, but we won't be deceived anymore, oh no. We are the veterans of the garden wars and we'll get the sugar, whatever it takes. Yes, son, there are other factions. Yes, they'll try to kill us, of course."

The players are beetles doing stealth missions in a kitchen trying to steal sugar. Their enemies are cats and other factions of different bugs.

Veterans of the Garden (VotG) is an ultra-light system to introduce your friends to tabletop RPGs. It introduces a face-or-tails fail-fowarding narrative focused mechanics in a 24 pages zine!

I created this game because every day I deal with people who have resistance or prejudice to RPGs. I believe that a normal 3 to 4 hour session often discourages some of our friends who already have a misconception of what tabletop RPGS are. There is no pretension to embrace the complex customizations or relationships that we so much love in RPGs. The idea is that you can carry the entire system in your pocket and with any coin in your hands start a short adventure.

This game is avaliable in two languages, Brazilian Portuguese and English.  The English edition is layouted in A5 and Half-Letter format and all of them include an interactive clickable summary version for digital readers.
